Welcome to the Optimist Club of Cortland/Bazetta

Serving Our Community Since 1967

For more than 50 years, the Optimist Club of Cortland/Bazetta has been serving the Warren and Cortland communities with one clear mission: to bring out the best in our youth, our neighbors, and ourselves. Chartered in 1967, our club has been a place where friends, families, and volunteers come together to build a stronger, more hopeful community.

From building five local baseball fields in the 1970s to hosting community traditions like the Snowflake Ball, which for decades has brought joy and inclusion to individuals with developmental disabilities, we are proud to be part of what makes this community shine.

What We Do

We believe every child and every family deserves opportunities, encouragement, and support. That is why our work is focused on:

Youth Programs and Scholarships – including essay contests, oratorical competitions, and support for local schools and sports.
Community Events – seasonal craft shows, fundraisers, and family-friendly traditions that bring people together.
Inclusion and Fun – events like the Snowflake Ball remind us that joy belongs to everyone.
Bingo Nights – weekly games that not only bring neighbors together but also fund youth programs, scholarships, and community projects.

Every dollar raised through our events goes directly back into local initiatives that uplift children and families right here in Bazetta and Cortland.s – seasonal craft shows, fundraisers, and family-friendly traditions that bring people together.
